Cashmere Season

Tourists visit Miami to escape their winter season. Shorts in December is an enviable thought to many. Even locals and transplants seem to be excited about the near year-round warm climate. Sure, the thermometer needle may dip below 70 degrees a few times, but there’s no cause for any heavy gear. Coats rarely see the outside of the closet. That leaves the menswear enthusiast, who cherishes seasonal clothing, with minimal options.

I read other blogs about transitioning to cold-weather accessories, cardigans and cashmere overcoats, with a mix of envy and smugness. The latter of which I pathetically cling to, knowing I’d prefer a shift in weather. As a friend recently commented, ‘Christmas should come with a chill.’ Not here, which explains why I look so sullen.

The cashmere tie, profiled here already, is my outlet. It’s wintery and substantial, soft and comfortable. It doesn’t aid in keeping anyone warm, but it feels like winter.
